Mid-tour Session
EGF Mid-tour Program 2026
The Mid-tour Program 2026 includes five sessions showcasing different types of farms, production systems and research activities.
1. Private farms
This session features farms with multi and complementary activities, including regenerative farming systems, permanent and cover crops (wine and nuts), rainfed and irrigation systems, and Montado as a silvopastoral and multifunctional system. It also highlights Conservation Agriculture, enotourism, cattle and sheep production, and organic farming systems.
2. Private farms
The focus of this session is sustainable circular agriculture, integrating Conservation Agriculture, rainfed and irrigation systems, and Montado under traditional management as a silvopastoral and multifunctional system. Pastures, forages, cattle and sheep production are also included.
3. Research Institute & Commercial Enterprise
This session takes place in a research institute and a commercial enterprise, emphasizing plant breeding activities and the work carried out at a research station.
4. Private farms
This session highlights Montado as a silvopastoral and multifunctional system, with emphasis on biodiversity and complementary grazing systems involving cattle, sheep, goats and Alentejano-breed swine. Organic farming systems are also part of the visit.
5. Private farms & Private Foundation under Public Utility
The final session includes private farms and a private foundation of public utility. It covers multi and complementary activities, intensive forestry, Montado, rainfed and irrigation systems, pastures and forages, traditional grazing systems with sheep and cattle, enotourism and intensive olive production.
