Call for Abstracts

The Scientific Committee of Event invites to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentation.

Submissions will be in English or in French, the official languages of the Meeting.

The scientific committee will peer review the abstracts and will selecte some for oral presentations and others will be selected for poster presentations.

Abstracts submission constitutes the authors’ consent to publish it in the Book of Abstracts. 

Presenting authors of accepted abstracts need to register and pay for the Meeting before the early-bird deadline.

Presenting authors have to pay for their own registration fee, travel and accommodation expenses. If a presenting author is unable to attend the Meeting, a co-author should substitute him/her.

The Meeting Proceedings, including the full texts of keynote lectures, oral presentations and posters accepted by the Scientific Committee will be published in the IOBC wprs Bulletin;
Guidelines for papers submission will be provided later.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Oral presentations

Time for oral presentations = 15 minutes

An LCD projector will be available for oral presentations. A laptop and a LCD in a preview room will be available, and presenters should bring their talks prepared in Powerpoint or Powerpoint-compatible format. All talks need to be preloaded before the beginning of the session.

 

Abstract Formatting Instructions

Abstracts after this date will not be accepted.

Abstracts will be presented in a program booklet that will be available at the website of the meeting. This version is unedited; therefore, you are requested to have your abstract reviewed by your colleagues before submission.

If a paper or poster is not presented at the meeting the abstract will not be published.

The organizing committee will review the abstracts and notify the authors once the presentation form (oral/poster) has been determined.

  • The abstract must be submitted as a MS Word document
  • PDF files will not be accepted
  • Font 11-pt Times or Times New Roman
  • Single spaced
  • No hyphenation of the text
  • Justification of the text
  • Include the full name of the authors (last name, first name)
  • All authors should be listed using bold print
  • List author addresses immediately after list of authors; use superscript numbers to clarify authors and addresses
  • Start the abstract on the line following the line with the last author’s address
  • Scientific names should be italicized but omit taxonomic authorities and references
  • Abstracts are limited to 300 words

Posters

Each poster will be given a number and allotted a space 120cm high x 90cm wide (Portrait). The spaces will be numbered ahead of time so that you will know where to place your poster. Pushpins will be provided for mounting the poster.

Indicate the title, and name(s) of author(s) at the top of your poster so that it may be identified easily. The lettering for this heading should be at least 56 points high; typed material should use the largest font possible, but at least 30 points in size. As a general guideline, text and illustrations should be comfortably read from a distance of 1m.

Your poster should be printed on lightweight materials that could be supported by pushpins.  Illustrated materials should be kept simple.  It also might be useful to have small copies of the poster for handouts.
